Porter Gaud is an independent, college preparatory school with ties to the Episcopal Church. Founded in 1867, it is a co-educationalday schoolwith an enrollment of 940 students in grades K through 12 and average class sizes of 15. The faculty includes 95 full-time teachers, 65% 0f whom hold Master Degrees or higher. All Porter-Gaud graduates attend four-year colleges, and the Class of 2003 earned average SAT scores of 636 verbal and 635 math.
