Boating enthusiasts and fishing fanatics will delight in the large number of boat landings in the Charleston area. Charleston County Parks & Recreation maintains facilities throught the region. There are also a number of private facilities that offer public access as well. Landings marked with an asterisk are best suited for launching smaller watercraft such as kayaks and canoes.

Boat Landing Directions

BULOW - West Ashley, take US 17 south, turn right on Davison Rd, turn right on Bulow Landing Rd. Bulow Landing is a dirt road and may be impassable at times due to standing water. Water Body: Rantowles Creek

CHERRY POINT - Wadmalaw Island near Rockville. Take Maybank Hwy; turn left on Cherry Point Rd, which leads to the landing. Water Body: Bohicket Creek

COUNTY FARM- Take Leeds Ave to Division Rd to Bridgeview Dr (near Duncans Boat Harbor where Mark Clark Expressway crosses Ashley River into North Charleston). Water Body: Ashley River

DAWHO- Take Highway 174 to new bridge across Dawho River. Landing is at the foot of the bridge. Water Body: Dawho River

FOLLY RIVER- Just over the bridge to Folly Island. Water Body: Folly River

GADSONVILLE- Take US 17 North, take a right onto Gadsonville Rd (Awendaw Fire Station is on the left). The landing is at the end of the causeway. No water at low tide. Limited parking. Water Body: Copahee Sound

LIMEHOUSE- Off Main Rd, just as you enter Johnâs Island from West Ashley at Limehouse Bridge. Water Body: Stono River

MARTINS- Take Parkers Ferry Rd to the right off of US 17 South. Turn left on Martins Landing Rd that leads to the landing. Water Body: Edisto River

PARADISE- Turn left onto Chandler Rd off US 17 North. Boat landing is at the end of the road. Water Body: Upper Wando River

PENNY CREEK- Take US 17 South, turn left on Parkers Ferry Rd, Highway 38, turn right onto Penny Creek Rd. Landing is at the end of the road. Small Landing. No Parking. Good for Kayaks and Canoes. Water Body: Penny Creek

PIERPONT- West Ashley ö down Highway 61 North, turn right on Parsonage Rd. The landing is at the end of the road. Small landing. Water Body: Church Creek (off the Ashley River)

River Terrace (Plymouth Landing) Enter Wappoo Drive in Riverland Terrace subdivision off Maybank Highway and turn right on to Plymouth Street. Landing is at the end of Plymouth Street. Water Body: Wappoo Creek

REMLEYS POINT- Mt. Pleasant- off Mathis Ferry Road near Hobcaw Point and Molasses Creek subdivision. Take 5th Avenue to 3rd Street to 3rd Avenue to 2nd Street to 5th Avenue. Large Landing. Water Body: Wando River

SHEM CREEK- Turn left off Coleman Blvd in Mt. Pleasant onto Mill Street. Landing is at the end of Mill Street. Water Body: Shem Creek

SOL LEGARE- Also known as Battery Island. Turn right off Folly Road onto Sol Legare Road go to the end. Small landing. Water Body: Stono River

STEAMBOAT- Edisto Island. Take SteamBoat Landing Road, 968, off Highway 174 (near James Edwards School). Small landing. Water Body: Steamboat Creek

TOOGOODOO- Take US 17 South turn left onto Highway 162 and go through Hollywood to Highway 636. 636 leads to landing. Water Body: Upper Toogoodoo Creek

WAPPOO CUT- Off Folly Road at bridge before James Island. Water Body: Wappoo Creek

WILLTOWN BLUFF- Take a left onto 174 from US 17 South to road 55 (Wiltown Rd) which leads to the landing. Or take a left on Parkers Ferry Rd (38) off US 17 South to Willtown Rd. Water Body: Edisto River
